I gaze at what I can’t see
I gaze at what I can’t see.
Soon the night will fall
And all my deepest desires
Are trapped behind the wall.
The sky above is vast;
I sense the distant trees;
Although the wind grows calm,
I still hear fluttering leaves.
My thoughts and what exists
Are all on the other side.
However the branches shake,
The sky is just as wide.
All that is commingles
With what I sleep and am.
Sadness I don’t feel,
But sad is what I am.
