Joana Gorjão Henriques

Born in Lisbon in 1975. She was a fellow of the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard University (USA) and is a journalist for the Portuguese daily newspaper Público since 1999. She is the author of a series or pieces that gave rise to books on racism during the colonial system. She has received several awards and accolades, including: the Gold Medal for Human Rights awarded by the Portuguese Parliament and the written press awards for Human Rights and Integration from the National Commission for UNESCO, and Communication "For Cultural Diversity" from the Portuguese High Commission for Migrations.
